THE CV ENGINE™ AND TECHNOLOGY™
The CV Engine™ is the most significant improvement in the internal combustion engine since the early 1900’s. This is not the first engine to make this claim but development will prove this an understatement. All of the improvements begin with the elimination of the crankshaft. Some of the significant features that evolve are as follows:
- Simple mechanical calculations show the CV Engine™ has more than twice the torque as an equivalent displacement crankshaft engine.
- Elimination of the crankshaft, its many components and the ability to double up on the pistons pairs reduces the engine weight by a factor of 4 for any equivalent horsepower crankshaft engine. As the horsepower (size) increases the weight reduction is even better.
- The CV Engine™ has linear piston motion with only axial forces and all components are bearing supported providing very low friction resulting in low maintenance, wear and a long life engine.
- The unique control of the piston provides constant volume combustion which results in high thermal efficiency, low pollution and less engine heat. It is anticipated that the thermal efficiency will exceed 60% and at least double the fuel efficiency.
- The linear piston motion and sealed power case provides a lower piston chamber that will make homogeneous charge mixing and supercharging an integral component of the engine.
- The unique cam and valve design has further reduced the number of parts resulting in a subsequent weight reduction.
- The CV Engine™ may be 2-stroke or 4-stroke, spark or diesel and burn any current internal combustion engine fuel.
The CV Technology™ is also applicable to pumps, motors and hydro generators. In all these applications the advantage is greater than twice the mechanical output in a smaller package. Another edge, especially with hydro generation, is the absence of shock in the transfer of linear to rotary motion. The transverse piston motion is always at a constant velocity with the surface velocity of the rotary motion which provides smooth motion and transfer unlike the asymmetric sinusoidal motion of the crankshaft.
This unique technology is ready for licensing with an incredible number of potential applications world-wide. Any industry not interested needs to ask themselves “what if my competitor had this technology”. Look under the Research and Development tab for articles, information and developments.
